Michael Thanh Tran is an Actor and Storyteller.
Born to Vietnamese refugees in St. Louis, Michael has performed with The Muny, the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, Metro Theatre Company, and the Lyceum Theatre. His body of work also includes national advertising campaigns for brands like Logitech G and Edward Jones Financials.
He is currently pursuing his MFA in Acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program, chaired by award-winning director Carl Cofield. He is a receipt of the Tisch Scholarship and has trained with an esteemed roster of faculty, including Brandon J. Dirden, Janet Zarish, and world-renowned guest artists across stage, screen, and movement disciplines.
Michael is an Associate Producer with Action Art Collaborative, an organization dedicated to amplifying stories of people-power, solidarity, and social change through the arts. He helped produce the World Premiere of Action, which was nominated for “Outstanding New Play” at the 2023 St. Louis Theater Circle Awards.
He is a member of the 3rd Theatre Producers of Color cohort, where he was mentored by Sammy Lopez and Miranda Gohh. In 2022, Michael received an Intimacy Captain Certificate from Ann C. James / Intimacy Coordinators of Color.
He resides in Brooklyn, NY.
